AAA Pilot Program

Underpinned by our purpose to elevate Australia's Administrative Profession through Research, Education, Advocacy, and Recognition, we are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with the Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) Program and NSW Education.

This collaboration is designed to create unique opportunities for students and school leavers to embark on a career in the administrative profession while allowing corporate businesses to contribute meaningfully to the future workforce.

Why Partner with RIEP ?

Our partnership with RIEP aligns seamlessly with our advocacy pillar, emphasising the importance of nurturing and empowering the future administrative workforce. RIEP's specialised programs facilitate students' exploration of administrative careers, equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge.

Through these initiatives, students gain insight into the world of work and receive a focused education on administrative careers. This educational component resonates with our commitment to providing learning opportunities and promoting professional excellence.

As advocates for the administrative profession, partnering with RIEP allows us to support career pathways and actively participate in developing the talent pipeline. The opportunity to engage with students at various stages of their educational journey helps to shape the future of our profession.

Our collaboration with RIEP offers a dynamic way for businesses to engage in advocacy and education for the administrative profession. Businesses can provide students with hands-on experiences and education, connecting with students to generate awareness about their industry sector, aligning with our advocacy efforts to spotlight the importance of the administrative profession. Job-readiness training sets students' expectations about the world of work and the potential for a fulfilling career in administration.

Partnering with RIEP allows us to contribute to students' career pathways actively, ensuring they are well-prepared and educated for administrative roles. This supports our mission to promote and advance the administrative profession.

How It Will Work:

We are introducing a unique program for selected students in the greater Sydney region (including CBD to Palm Beach, Blue Mountains and the Shire). These students will take part in an Insights Tours, Administrative Work Experience & Mentorship Program and the participate in On-the-Job Training.

Insights Tour: Embark on an insightful tour in Sydney CBD and Western Sydney, visiting eight workplaces to gain a holistic view of the administrative profession. The 8 workplaces will be given the opportunity to present their business, do a tour and hear from employees about why they love working there. We anticipate this will take 1.5 to 2 hours (but have flexibility to adapt to each workplace environment).

These tours will take place on the Week 4 in Term 1 in 2024 -27th & 29th Feb in Sydney CBD and 28th Feb in the Parramatta Western Sydney area.

Administrative Work Experience: Participate in three days of administrative work experience, providing hands-on exposure to the profession and valuable educational experiences. The work experience will take place between the 5th March until 16th March 2024.

All students participating will be provided a styling session at 'Dressed for Success' in Marrickville and provided clothing for the workplace.

Mentorship: Receive mentorship from seasoned industry leaders provided by the AAAs, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge about the administrative profession, furthering our commitment to education.

There will be a 4 step process of the mentorship including an introduction F2F or Zoom call prior to the 27th February 2024, F2F engagement during the Insights Tours, meeting at workplace 1hr prior to the start of their 3 day work experience program and then post work experience wrap up discussion.

On-the-Job Training: Acquire on-the-job training for transactional tasks required at a Level 1 Administrator (as referenced by The Global Skills Matrix), ensuring students are well-prepared for future roles.

By joining hands with RIEP, we actively contribute to the growth and excellence of the administrative profession while allowing businesses to give to the future through the AAAs. Our partners for this program are Sephora, Dressed for Success, RIEP & NSW Education.

At the conclusion of this pilot we will evaluate and determine for 2024 offering a traineeship under the SBAT program designed specifically for the administrative roles and training https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/career-and-study-pathways/school-based-apprenticeships-and-traineeships

We are taking expressions of interest from corporate workplaces to host an Insights Tour and/or participate in Work Experience. If you are working in the administrative profession and you would like to be involved in the mentorship program please email info@australianassemblyofadministrators.com
